One of the most important holidays in Cambodia is the Cambodian New Year, which takes place in April, and usually means a one week break from school.
To celebrate the year, the Cambodian staff take charge of the whole school while the foreign teachers act as their assistants. Traditional Cambodian games take place and traditional costumes are worn by all.
Later, in the afternoon, a Buddhist prayer ceremony takes place at each campus, to bring joy and good luck in the upcoming new year. Everyone is invited to attend.
In the evening, the staff from both campuses come together for an evening dinner of traditional Cambodian food, and to celebrate another successful year at American Pacific International School.
